A new kakuro every day
Every day there is one new kakuro here, the same for everyone who plays it. A new puzzle arrives at midnight UTC: early evening in the Americas, and overnight in Europe. Like every puzzle on this site, it has exactly one answer and can be solved by reasoning alone, without guessing. Nothing to sign up for or install, and the puzzle you start is saved in this browser until the day is over.
The level follows the week, so you can ease in and build up:
- Monday and Tuesday: Easy, a small grid with short runs.
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Medium, a bigger grid where some runs need a second look.
- Saturday and Sunday: Hard, the largest grid, with long runs to think through.
Your time, your streak and sharing
The clock starts with your first number or note and runs only while the puzzle is on your screen, so a phone call or a cup of tea never counts against you. Solve the daily on days in a row to build a streak; miss a day and it starts again at one. Your streak is kept in this browser.
When you finish, Share copies a short result to paste into a message or a post. It shows the day, the level, your time and whether you used Hint or Check, and never a digit of the grid, so you can send it before your friends have played:
How to play
Write the digits 1 to 9 in the white squares. The digits in each run, across or down, add up to the clue in the black square at its start, and no digit repeats in a run. Tap a square, then a number; turn on Notes to jot down possibilities. Read how to play kakuro for the rules and the techniques with pictures, and keep the kakuro calculator open beside you if you like.
